Do you know the difference between the terms United Kingdom, Great Britain and the British Isles?

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is the political union of England, Wales,Scotland  and Northern Ireland. Great Britain is a geographical term which indicates England, Scotland and Wales, but not Northern Ireland.The British Isles is also a geographical term that includes the two main islands of Great Britain and Irealand including the Republic of Ireland.

The United Kingdom flag - „Union Jack”is red, white and blues and includes the crosses of the English, Scotish and Northern Irish flags, but not a Welsh flag- a red dragon.

There are symbols for each country too: a red rose for England, a thistle for Scotland, a shamrock for Northern Ireland, a leek or a daffodil for Wales.

The people of the UK is about 66 million- 55 million in England, 5,5 million in Scotland,2 million in Northern Ireland, 3 million in Wales.

London is the capital city of England ant the United Kingdom.
