This is a song that many children learn about Christopher Columbus and his journey to America. 

Columbus Day is a  holiday that commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus in North America in 1492.  Columbus Day 2020 is on Monday, October 12. It was  celebrated in some cities and states in 18th century but it is a public  holiday until 1937.

Special parades and large events take place in some towns and cities.  On Columbus Day people display a flag to homor the man who discovered their country.Although Columbus day is a public holiday in many parts of the United States, it isn’t a day off in some states.
